Cathy Hammond, clinical nurse specialist in wound care from Nurse Maude in Christchurch worked closely with a nurse champion in Kaikoura to successfully trial a telemedicine clinic for woundcare. The virtual clinic was proven to be a successful supplement to existing rural clinics and patient visits to Christchurch. Clinically and technically the trial was successful with good feedback from clinicians, patients and their families.
